Online retail giant Ocado believe in nurturing British suppliers and as part of their mission to discover and source the UK’s very best small producers like Yorkshire Provender, G’nosh, Muddy Boots, Higgidy and What on Earth they have announced that they are teaming up with
Lord Stuart Rose and chef Tom Kerridge who will sit on a judging panel alongside Ocado buyers, and a shortlist of entrants will be invited to deliver a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style business pitch with the winning product or range which will secure a listing at Ocado for six months, with an option to extend. The winner will also receive £20,000 to promote their product through our website, marketing and social media channels.
Last year saw 16 suppliers being successfully listed at ocado.com as a result of the competition, including products from four of the five all-female finalists and we’re looking for the same standard of suppliers this year – sound like you or someone you know?
Joining judges Lord Rose; Michelin starred chef, Tom Kerridge will be last year’s winner, Hannah Rhodes from Hiver Beers; Ocado’s Head of Buying, Rose Price; and Ocado’s Director of Retail, Lawrence Hene.
