Condé Nast checks out with Recipe & Shopping List Service for $14M

The Epicurious, Bon Appétit and Gourmet sites will be the first to use the program, ZipList representative Taryn Langer told the New York Times.
Not all details have been disclosed, other than Conde Nast has paid about $14 million for the company which will will continue to operate independently.

“This acquisition enables Conde Nast to deliver on our commitment to marry quality content and innovative technology, giving unprecedented scale as we focus on creating additional revenue streams in the digital space,” Conde Nast president Bob Sauerberg said in a press release. “Our goal is to build ZipList as an independent company while collaborating with our food brands to integrate its core technology, and to create partnerships that allow other companies to do the same.”

With more than a million users, ZipList features a recipe box where users can save recipes and create shopping lists from what they find online. It also has more than 6,500 media partners, including the US giant MarthaStewart.com.
